is one myth for every man which, if we but knew it, would make us
understand all he did and thought” said Yeats after reading Ted
Hughes’s Shakespeare and the Goddess of Complete Being . -
IMHO he is right. Consciously or unconsciously we follow (and fight!)
this myth throughout the life. Is it necessary to find out and word
our own myth? I don’t know. Maybe it is helpful, at least for
understanding ourselves.
Poeet W. B. Yeats ütles pärast seda,
kui oli lugenud Ted Hughes’i mastaapset teost Shakespearist , et
iga inimese elus on üks müüt, mille teadmine aitab meil mõista
tema tegemisi ja mõtlemisi. See näib mulle õige olevat. Me järgime
seda müüti ja samas ka võitleme sellega läbi elu. Kas on aga
vältimatult vajalik oma müüdist teadlik olla ja osata seda
sõnastada, seda ma ei tea. Võimalik siiski, et see on abiks,
vähemasti iseenda mõistmisel.
